Due to space limitations, the translations of several manuals that were critical to forming the basis of doctrine for armored reconnaissance were left out of both Scouts Out and Tip of the Spear. They are quoted extensively but not in their entirety in both books.
HDv 299/10 (1939): Training Manual for the Cavalry, The Reconnaissance Battalion (Motorized) (1939) (All of the manual is translated, except for some appendices dealing with chemical warfare.)
HDv 299/11: Training manual for the Armored Force, Guidelines for the Command & Control and Combat Employment of the Armored Reconnaissance Battalion (Armored) (1944)
School Exercises for Combat Training in Reconnaissance, The Crew of the Individual Vehicle Within the Reconnaissance Patrol (1940). (Three of the exercises are presented in their entirety here.)
